Skip Dampier chats to BU Chapter
AIGA CHAPTER MEETING – MARCH 27th 2008Skip Dampier
This well attended chapter meeting followed on from the evenings Visual Voices lecture by SKIP DAMPIER.
Dampier, has more than 20 years of experience in the design field. Since 2005 he has been a partner, chief creative director and strategist for Tocquigny (Tockeeny), a marketing and branding firm based in Austin, Texas. He has developed a proven track record of leading strategic initiatives for a wide range of clients, and has a broad range of hands-on experience with some of the world’s most respected brands. Prior to his current position at Tocquigny, Skip managed and nurtured creative organizations, processes, and products with Strascina & Partners in Albuquerque, New Mexico and Peoria firms Simantel and Ross Creative + Strategy. Skip has garnered numerous awards for his work, including being published in the Graphis Design, Interactive, and Packaging Annuals, Print’s Regional Design Annual, Creativity Annual, US Ad Review, Design 2K Annual, as well as winning the BMA of New York ACE Award, hundreds of ADDY Awards, 17 TELLY Awards, and NAMA National Best of Show.
The chapter meeting followed it’s successful Q&A formula, with prizes for the best questions on the night. Additionally, members were reminded that the next meeting will be the final one of the academic year and part of that meeting will involve electing a new exectutive committee. So, if you are a graphic design student, an AIGA member (or will be by the start of the fall semester) and want to serve on this committee, please contact the current Co-Presidents, Jenn Oster and Julie Longenecker to let them know in advance of the meeting.
