ART 106 3-D Design

Course Description
This is a foundation course that introduces design principles, aesthetic considerations and basic techniques of working as they relate to the creation of three-dimensional art. It will prepare students for the three-dimensional studio areas and enhance the creation of two-dimensional art and virtual three-dimensional work.

Course Objectives
The primary objective is to heighten awareness of basic three-dimensional design principles in each student through a series of directed projects. Experimentation during project work will develop creative problem solving skills. Aesthetic values will be refined. Knowledge of materials and manual dexterity with tools will be increased. Interaction with peers and the instructor will add to these objectives.
