Inland Visual Studies Center Symposium

This year’s Inland Center Symposium at Bradley University will present conversations about the production of visual culture in the Midwest. The 2-day event will be unique in that it will concentrate on the nature of Prints and Artists Books in the region. To more fully represent the structure and history of these mediums we are including studio demonstrations by two of the most respected practitioners of their disciplines. We will also screen Midwest Matrix, a documentary about the history of Midwest Printmaking and offer lectures and a panel discussion with national leaders in Printmaking and Book Arts. The symposium has the 34th Bradley International Print & Drawing Exhibition as its backdrop. Two specially curated Book Arts Exhibitions will run concurrently – Bookness at Bradley’s Hartmann Center Gallery and Endpapers at Peoria’s Backspace Collective.  All events are free and open to the public.
