An orphan boy named Peter and his mysterious new friend, Molly,\n overcome bands of pirates and thieves in their quest to keep a magical \nsecret safe and save the world from evil. Villains include the scary but\n somehow familiar pirate captain &#8220;Black Stache&#8221; and the ferocious \ncrocodile Mister Grin.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Molly and Peter take a voyage with Alf, James, Thomas, Prentiss, \nTubby Ted, Slank and Little Richard from a filthy, crime-ridden port in \nOld England across the turbulent sea. Aboard the <em>Never Land<\/em> is a \ntrunk that holds the &#8220;greatest treasure on earth,&#8221; thought by its \npursuers to be gold or jewels but revealed to be &#8220;starstuff,&#8221; an alien \nchemical element (delivered to Earth by meteor strikes) that can either \ngive people and animals magic powers, or kill them, depending on the \ndosage and other factors. The trunk is moved from place to place through\n storms and sea battles: once in a dry, guarded cabin, next in a ship \nfull of greedy pirates, and then out in the open sea.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"742\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/art.bradley.edu\/will\/files\/2019\/07\/5x7_Postcard-742x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6828\" srcset=\"http:\/\/art.bradley.edu\/will\/files\/2019\/07\/5x7_Postcard.jpg 742w, http:\/\/art.bradley.edu\/will\/files\/2019\/07\/5x7_Postcard-217x300.jpg 217w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 706px) 89vw, (max-width: 767px) 82vw, 740px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>While on the ship, both Peter and Molly become close as they take\n on Slank and many other villains, including pirates. While they try to \nkeep the starstuff out of the wrong hands, the Never Land shipwrecks and\n Molly saves Peter from death, and they fly for an unknown island.\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the shipwreck led them to a mysterious island, known as <em>Mollusk Island<\/em>,\n Molly is kidnapped by Slank and Peter saves her from him, along with \nthe help of James, Thomas, Prentiss, and Tubby Ted who all go by the \ngang name, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lost_Boys_(Peter_Pan)\">The Lost Boys<\/a>. Peter also does battle against Black Stache and cuts off his hand with a sword; the amputee pirate will adopt the moniker &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Captain_Hook\">Captain Hook<\/a>&#8220;.\n The book ends with Molly and Peter saying goodbye to each other and \nwith Peter promising to visit her in England. Molly and her father, Lord\n Leonard Aster, return to the real world, while Peter and the Lost Boys \nremain on Mollusk Island, which they rename &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Neverland\">Neverland<\/a>,&#8221;\n the name of the ship that was shipwrecked.
