{"id":9358,"date":"2026-10-02T15:33:37","date_gmt":"2026-10-02T15:33:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/art.bradley.edu\/will\/?p=9358"},"modified":"2026-10-02T15:33:37","modified_gmt":"2026-10-02T15:33:37","slug":"henry-lv-part-one","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/art.bradley.edu\/will\/2026\/10\/02\/henry-lv-part-one\/","title":{"rendered":"Henry lV (part one)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">by William Shakespeare<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">November 5 \u2013 15, 2026 in the O\u2019Sullivan Studio Theatre<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Directed by Debbie Alley<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bradley returns to the O\u2019Sullivan Studio Theatre for a mainstage production for the first time since 2017 with&nbsp;<em>Henry IV, Part One<\/em>,&nbsp;a Shakespearean masterpiece about King Henry IV\u2019s struggle with rebellious nobles (particularly Henry \u201cHotspur\u201d Percy), while his son, Prince Hal, navigates a wild life with the roguish Falstaff, before proving his worth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This history play, written around 1597, covers the period from late 1402 to mid-1403 and explores themes of honor, rebellion, and father-son relationships, contrasting the king\u2019s disappointment in Hal with his envy of Hotspur\u2019s gallantry.
