39th Bradley International – Call for Artists

The Bradley International Print and Drawing Exhibition is the second-longest running juried print and drawing competition in the country. Every two years it features the best contemporary graphic artwork from around the globe. This exhibition will be featured in two campus galleries at Bradley University: Heuser Art Gallery and Hartmann Center Gallery. The show will also extend to other venues downtown: The Peoria Riverfront Museum and The Peoria Art Guild.

Deadline for Entry: Friday, November 8, 2024
Notification of Jury Results: Monday, December 9, 2024
Deadline for Receipt of Art Work: Friday, January 10

Exhibition Dates: February 3, 2023 – March 31, 2023

Media:
Open to all traditional and non-traditional graphic media, including all forms of printmaking, drawing, and book arts.

Entry Fees:
The entry fee is $40 for up to five pieces, non-refundable. Entry fees must be paid online via the link below. Detail images may be included at no additional cost but should only be provided when necessary to reveal accurate understanding of the artwork. Entries submitted without payment will not be considered.

The Juror: Aurora De Armendi Sobrino.

De Armendi Sobrino was born and raised in Cuba and lives in New Paltz, NY. Through a balance of scholarly and material research, her artwork has taken the form of artist books, prints, video, ceramics and drawings exploring the poetics of place and displacement and the singular and collective histories and memories therein. 

De Armendi Sobrino received an MFA from The University of Iowa and a BFA from The Cooper Union School of Art in New York. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at Wave Hill Garden, the International Print Center, and the Instituto Cervantes in NYC; the San Francisco Center for Book Arts; the Minnesota Center for Book Arts; the MDCC Museum at the Freedom Tower in Miami; Fototeca de Cuba, Havana; and Biblioteca de Cantabria, Spain, among others. Parallel to her studio practice, she serves in the role of Assistant Professor in Printmaking in the Art Department at SUNY New Paltz, New Paltz, NY.
